In recent years, the global refugee crisis has drawn unprecedented attention to the resettlement and integration of refugees. Despite this, less than 1% of international humanitarian funding goes to community-led refugee initiatives. Though the 2019 Global Refugee Forum was a major step-forward for the attention devoted to refugees by states, less than 2% of the 3000+ attendees were refugees.
Worldwide, refugees suffer disproportionately from lack of resources, discrimination, and political underrepresentation. The proper integration of refugees into host countries is important, not only to ensure their own empowerment, but to garner public support for refugee resettlement as well.
R-SEAT seeks to amplify the voice and the power of refugee-led organizations and initiatives that support, empower, and enable the refugee leadership ecosystem. This page includes links to various initiatives and sources of funding and support for the refugee leadership ecosystem. We also dedicate this page to showcasing powerful stories and successes from refugee-led initiatives all over the world. If you know of an initiative or have a success story to share, please contact us and we would be delighted to amplify it.
