This overview dissects and summarizes findings regarding the participation of refugees in aiding and protecting others. They find that refugee led initiatives (referred to as Refugee Community Organizations/RCOs) are often underfunded and underrecognized by international donors, and that engaging with these refugee-led initiatives can create positive results for donors and other organizations. Finally, it is recommended that the international community work to develop better relationships with other refugee-led organizations.
